Forgotten People of a lost Neighborhood

The 1st Ward was Allegheny City’s first neighborhood. It’s an area where many Italians, Irish and some African Americans settled. This neighborhood no longer exists as far as residential. Today it is known as the North Shore. This is also where the Rooneys lived and where professional football began in Pittsburgh.
